A Level Content: Advanced Topics (Papers 3 and 4)
The A Level expands into strategic IT management, new technologies, and complex practical development.
Theory: Strategic IT and Social Impact
Covers **new technologies**, the **societal impact of IT**, **communication technologies**, **project management**, and the **system life cycle**.
Practical: Development and Graphics
Involves advanced skills in **web programming** (e.g., JavaScript), and complex work with **graphics and animation**.
Skill Development Focus
The course aims to develop problem-solving abilities, responsible technology use, and IT systems evaluation.
Problem-Solving & Systems Understanding

Assessment Structure
Assessment for the full A Level is through four external papers.
- **Paper 1 (Theory):** 1 hr 45 mins written exam | **50%** of AS Level mark.
- **Paper 2 (Practical):** 2 hrs 30 mins practical test | **50%** of AS Level mark.
- **Paper 3 (Advanced Theory):** 1 hr 45 mins written exam | **25%** of A Level mark.
- **Paper 4 (Advanced Practical):** 2 hrs 30 mins practical test | **25%** of A Level mark.
